About Unique Aviation

Two decades on the ramp at Kuwait International Airport, handling flights for scheduled, charter, and cargo operators.

Two decades at KWI

Unique Aviation Services has operated continuously at Kuwait International Airport. Since 2006. Twenty years at the same airport — through fleet renewals at every operating carrier, through schedule reshuffles, through the full operating tempo from quiet weeknight cargo runs to peak-season passenger surges. The ramp does not slow down, and neither do we.

From day one the company was built around a single operating principle: one desk owns the full turnaround. The same coordinator who confirms your slot also briefs the marshaller, signs off the load sheet, books the crew hotel, and chases catering through customs. No internal handoffs, no missed signals, no "please contact our other department" emails when something needs to move quickly.

The team is built for that model. Ramp staff are IATA AHM trained and our procedures map directly to ICAO Annex 14 requirements. We hold the operational approvals to handle aircraft from regional turboprops up to wide-body freighters, and the cargo desk is set up for general freight, perishables, and dangerous goods with bonded warehouse access at KWI.

We work scheduled carriers, charter operators, ferry flights, government movements, and cargo-only services. Some clients route a single aircraft through Kuwait once a quarter; others operate a daily slot. The operating posture is the same in both cases — the schedule the airline gave us is the schedule we plan to.

Performance is measured by the only metric airlines care about: on-time departure. Twenty years at the same airport buys two things — people who know KWI’s slots, gates, ramp constraints, and customs rhythms by heart, and an operations cadence that delivers your STD instead of ours.

Compliance and operating standards

The handling agreement an airline signs with us is backed by documented procedures, certified staff, and a paper trail. Here is what that looks like in practice.

IATA AHM and ICAO Annex 14. Ramp staff hold current IATA Airport Handling Manual training. Operating procedures, ground-handling agreements, safety briefings, and load-sheet preparation map directly to IATA AHM Chapters 460, 590, and 611. Our ramp safety programme aligns with ICAO Annex 14 Volume I, including apron-management, aircraft-marshalling, and ramp-incident reporting requirements.

Dangerous goods. The cargo desk is certified to handle dangerous goods consignments under IATA DGR with documented acceptance, segregation, and loading procedures. Bonded warehouse access at KWI lets us hold cargo airside through customs clearance without the freight ever leaving the controlled zone.

Aircraft scope. Operational approvals cover the full range of aircraft routinely operating through KWI — regional turboprops, narrow-body jets, wide-body passenger and freighter aircraft, and business jets. GSE inventory includes pushback tractors, ground power and air-conditioning units, belt loaders, high-loaders, and lavatory and water service vehicles sized for each aircraft category.

Documentation and reporting. Every turnaround generates a complete record: load sheet, NOTOC for dangerous goods, ramp inspection log, fueling slip, and a turnaround timestamp summary. Records are retained per IATA AHM 590 retention requirements and made available to the operating airline on request.

What we value

Single desk

One operations desk owns your turnaround end to end. One contact, one invoice, one team that knows your aircraft and schedule.

Trained crew

Ramp staff are IATA AHM trained and our procedures map directly to ICAO Annex 14. Documentation is audit-ready on request.

On-time

Performance is measured by on-time departure. We plan to your STD and OBT — not ours — and ramp staff dispatch against your scheduled times.
